Good Non-profits have good Boards and good Boards have good Chairpersons! The Chair manages the Board...The Executive Director/ CEO manages the organization. The job "product" of the Chair is, primarily, the integrity of the Board’s process. The Chair is the only Board member authorized to speak for the Board as a group, other than in rare and specifically authorized.
Overview
We know the role of the Board Chair is a specific role with duties and responsibilities that are different than other members. Therefore, you need to develop and hone skills that include, facilitation, communication, meeting management and organizational competencies. We will address best practices that can move a Board from good to great. This training involves videos, and case studies to facilitate discussion and provide takeaways to improve the Chairperson’s effectiveness.
